Community Health Representatives
HISTORY:
The Tribal Community Health Representatives (CHR) Programs in Arizona are federally funded programs that continuously advocate for further integration into health care delivery, Medicaid reimbursement, and optimal health for their respective communities. CHRs serve an important role as front line public health leaders who “share the language, socioeconomic status and life experiences of the community members they serve.”
TODAY:
The CHR Movement continues to convene as a workgroup to strategize, advocate and support continued efforts around reimbursement, training/workforce opportunities, and medical integration. In addition, CHR Summits are held annually to gather CHRs from across the beautiful state of Arizona and afar.
Purpose of Monthly meetings:
Every month, CHR Directors and invested stakeholders from across Arizona’s tribal communities convene as a workgroup to strategize, advocate, and support continued efforts around:
- Medicaid Reimbursement
- CHW Voluntary Certification
- Training & Workforce Opportunities
- Grant Opportunities
